Elevation Map

Distance: +- 50km

Time estimate: +- 13 -14 hours

We will be leaving Scarborough at 5h00 sharp, so please be at Camel Rock Restaurant at 4h45 latest. We have 13 hours to get to the cable car in time as it closers at 18h00. Alternatively we can walk down Platteklip. It gets dark at 18h15. We will need to get to base 1, which is at the start of Chapman’s Peak in Noordhoek at 8h00. We then need to get to the base 2, which is The Old Fort at Houtbay by 11h00. Then base 3 at Constantia Nek at 14h00, so that we have enough time to get to Mclears Beacon on Table Mountain and reach the cable car by 18h00. The following points above are also places that people can check out if they have had enough and are easy to get collected from.

You will need to organize family or friends to collect you from the bottom cable station at Table Mountain at about 19h00.

Hiking guidelines: Due to the distance and timing of the hike, we are going to have to keep up a steady pace and only take 3 scheduled stops. Somebody will be designated with the GPS to keep us on an average of 4.5 – 5km per hour. We will aim to walk together, however I suggest we partner up, so that if we separate we always have one person with us at all times. Please send me your cell numbers and make sure that you have your phone fully charged on the day. Please insert my number into your phone – 0825539457
