Ingram Casey

Ingram Casey is the director of To Escape To and is one of the founding members of Trailblazer Adventure Hiking with a real passion for getting his kids on the mountain. As well as joining friends Ingram often brings along his guests on our adventure hikes adding an international flavour and added enthusiasm as seeing our stunning trails through newcomers eyes really makes you appreciate what we have on our doorstep. As is almost always the case a day on the beach and mountain trails ends up being a highlight of many peoples stay with the added bonus it’s completely free and the rest of us can do it every week! Ingram also heads up the Young Trailblazers.

Peter Wood

Peter is based in Cape Town and is an avid hiker and adventurer. He has created a website that maps out some of the Cape’s best hiking trails. He organizes regular hikes of various intensities on weekends, so please keep an eye on Trailblazer for further details, if you are keen to join in.

Brendan Cadman

Brendan is the owner of Bootcamp SA – KZN. He has the nickname “Hardcore Silverback” as he enjoys carrying the heaviest pack up the highest mountain he can find. He has a lot of experience in the Drakesnberg and arranges summit hikes to this region. If you are interested in getting involved, keep an eye on the Trailblazer Challenges.

Graeme Trautmann

Graeme is a distance runner who has forsaken the paved surfaces for the mountain kingdom on his doorstep. A native Noordhoek inhabitant, Graeme grew up in these mountains and regularly guides groups up into the peaks for some high speed hiking. When work travel arrangements allow there is a weekly Saturday morning group run which anybody can join. Some of the outings are more extreme than others so it’s best to check beforehand what route and distance is being explored. You are guaranteed a unique experience and to discover new vistas. Should you have a group that wishes to explore a certain region, please get hold of Graeme for guiding or traveling tips or to take you up there and back down again at speed. Keep an eye on Trailblazer Adventure Challenges for updates.

Grant Stott

The main “Dassie” on the mountain. Gets excited about leaving his front door just to walk the dog. Often torn between the salt water and the mountain, but just loves to get out! Time out is time with family and friends – living in Cape Town is living in one of nature’s treasures. If you are interested in getting involved, keep an eye on the Trailblazer Challenges.

Tim Ellis

Tim is passionate about outdoor adventure and he organizes annual adventure trips around the world. His current trip is a 2 week hike to Kilimanjaro. He is the founder of Face Africa. His original concept with Face Africa was to provide a combination of guide-led travel and engagement with sustainable community development and to affirm the link between interaction, participation and fun. If you are interested in getting involved with some of Tim’s projects, please get in touch with us or keep an eye on the Trailblazer Facebook Page.
